The Local Pass is intended for residents living within a 20km radius of an eligible toll plaza, although the applicable distance and other conditions may vary by location.
Applicants generally need a private vehicle, an active FASTag and proof that they reside within the permitted area. Once approved, the pass provides unlimited journeys through the selected toll plaza during its monthly validity period.
Unlike the National Highway Annual Pass, the Local Pass applies only to the toll plaza for which it has been issued. The annual option covers eligible National Highway and National Expressway plazas and has separate pricing and usage conditions.
Documents Required for the Application
Users should keep their Aadhaar card, vehicle Registration Certificate and proof of residential address ready before beginning the application. Additional documents may be requested depending on the toll plaza and local eligibility rules.
The name, address and vehicle registration information entered in the application should match the supporting documents. The vehicle should also have a functional FASTag linked to its registration number.
How to Buy the Pass Through Rajmargyatra
Download or update the official Rajmargyatra app from Google Play or Apple’s App Store. Open the app and sign in using your mobile number.
Go to the FASTag or toll services section and look for the Local Pass or Monthly Pass option. Select the eligible toll plaza and enter the requested vehicle, FASTag and residential information.
Upload clear copies of the required documents and review the entered details before submitting the application. Once eligibility has been verified, follow the displayed instructions to pay the applicable monthly fee.
The pass should be linked digitally to the vehicle’s FASTag after approval. Users should check its activation status inside the app before travelling through the toll plaza.
What to Check Before Making Payment
Local Pass pricing may differ between toll plazas, so applicants should rely on the amount shown inside the official app. They should also confirm the pass validity, covered plaza and vehicle number before paying.
If the Local Pass option does not appear, the selected toll plaza may not yet support digital applications. Users can contact the toll plaza or access the MargMitra Help Centre in the app for assistance. MargMitra supports text and voice interactions in 22 Indian languages.
