Samsung brings One UI 9 beta for Galaxy phones in India and more countries: How to install and what it offers

Samsung is quickly moving to Android 17 after Google officially confirmed the new version at this week’s Android Show. The One UI 9 beta version is getting an early preview for those using some of the latest Samsung flagship devices in countries like India, the UK and more.

The Android 17 version promises minor interface changes and more focused around security and privacy of the users. Samsung has become a lot more proactive and engaged with its software policies and its partnership with Google has reaped dividends on multiple fronts.

One UI 9 beta rolls out: Eligible devices and other details

Samsung, in its post, has confirmed the One UI 9 beta roll out for Galaxy S26 series users in markets like India, South Korea, Poland, the UK and Germany among others. So if you have the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ or the Galaxy S26 Ultra models, the Android 17-based One UI version can be installed on the device to get a preview of what’s to come later this year.

One UI 9 beta features to expect

So what can you expect from the Android 17-based One UI version this year? The beta update is bringing changes to the Notes app and offering more creative features for the users. The Quick Panel is getting a new design with better controls for screen brightness, the device sound and playback for music and videos in the background. You also get a separate tab for Wi-Fi and mobile data that has been part of Google’s to-do list with the recent Android version.

As for the security side of One UI 9, you will get alerts for harmful apps that you might be installing, block its access to the device and immediately ask you to delete it.

We expect the One UI 9 beta to extend reach beyond the 2026 devices in the next few months. And the full release should be planned when the next Galaxy Fold models are announced later this year.
